A Fight To Remember

"Good, but should be improved"

date: May 26, 2008

My main gripe with this is that the camera wasn't dynamic. This needed to have angles that showed the effects on the characters, the single static view was too far out to show the drama properly.

Actually doing this effect is easy: make your movie, put into a MovieClip and then simply move the MovieClip to simulate the camera. But you may have already known this. I don't know. That's my main suggestion anyway. It was good but could be better.

"Thanks a LOT. I needed to know how to do this."

date: May 20, 2008

Just ideal for me. I understood without problems.

And for the previous reviewer's question: "How do you make it animate?" It's simple:

1) Add another layer between the mask and the ActionScript layers.
2) Create a movieclip on the first frame. Add your animation that should play whilst the movie loads.
3) Add a frame in frame 2. Just a normal one.
4) Add a blank keyframe in frame 3. Here create another movieclip containing the animation you want to have play when the movie is loaded.
...That's it!
(NOTE: If you want either animation to play only once, just add
stop();
to its last frame.)
Hope this helped.

Again, thanks for the great tut, 321!

"Great! But my problem is..."

date: May 19, 2008

Tile-based tutorial. My guy can't move. There doesn't appear to be anything in there about actually pressing buttons to make him move...Can you point it out to me, the part where you press buttons and get an output? Or if it's not in there, you'll need to change that. Otherwise, great tut!
